About the team

The WhatsApp Business Research team is searching for a qualitative UX researcher who is excited about connecting businesses and consumers on our platform. You’ll work closely with stakeholders and other researchers to identify user needs and problems and evaluate new product opportunities to create intuitive user experience.

Job description

Collaborate closely with researchers, designers, product managers, data scientists & engineers to identify research questions
Collaboratively develop and execute on a research roadmap
Conduct all phases of qualitative research (planning, data collection, analysis, reporting)
Communicate findings and implications to stakeholders
Manage research vendors to help augment the work of the research team


Independently carrying projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
Comfortable with ambiguity and new spaces
Able to synthesize existing knowledge
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to generate and refine research questions
Experience designing and conducting user research, including generative and evaluative methods
Experience conducting remote research
Ability to translate research findings to actionable recommendations
Able to influence cross-functional partners to take a different path than intended
Understanding of user experience principles and the product development process
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong skills in creating visual deliverables

Basic qualifications

BA/BS in HCI or social science field (psychology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, or economics)
At least 4 years experience conducting user research in an industry setting

Preferred qualifications

Experience working for fast-paced consumer-facing products
Graduate degree in HCI or social science field (psychology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, or economics)
Experience in running international research
Experience in managing research vendors
