Elevate is a program developed by Facebook employees to accelerate the economic impact and success of Black, Latinx and Hispanic communities, with a focus on small businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders within the digital skills space. We help these key audiences thrive (whether that is helping connect them with one another and/or helping them bring in revenue for their companies) using products across the Facebook family.

We’re looking for a highly proactive, experienced instructional designer, passionate about supporting Black, Latinx and Hispanic-owned small and medium business (SMBs), to join our Elevate team to create a powerful and effective learning experience for Elevate participants.
The Instructional Designer will work with Facebook community managers, program managers, and cross-functional teams to develop learning materials that will be published within a Facebook Group for the Facebook Elevate program. They will take a “partner first” approach, ensuring that Black, Latinx and Hispanic small business owners’ voices, expertise and experience are reflected in the learning content, and that the educational content is relevant and meets partners’ specific learning styles. They will also use data and audience insights to inform their content creation.


Deliver educational curriculum that helps Elevate program participants thrive online
Create compelling original educational content and update existing content that breaks down complex product functionality, business best practices, marketing, leadership and other concepts
Ensure content is accurate, high quality, and tailored to being delivered in the Facebook Groups environment
Understand the partner audience perspective and learning styles, and tailor content to reflecting this understanding
Meet tight publishing deadlines with high attention to detail
Work closely with our community manager to align education materials to the broader content calendar
Work with multiple cross-functional teams (marketing, legal, comms, product, etc.) to ensure deliverables meet company standards
Iterate on educational materials based on partner feedback

Minimum Qualifications

Excellent writing skills and high attention to detail
5+ years of instructional experience
5+ years of educational content writing experience
Experience with creating content for the web, including mobile web

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Facebook products, especially Pages, Groups, and Ads Manager
Experience creating content for Black, Latinx and/or Hispanic audiences specifically
Experience developing learning & development curriculum creation
Experience creating microlearning content and eLearning content
Experience working with and/or owning small businesses
Experience with digital advertising/marketing
